Steel structures worth EUR 10 million from Rautaruukki for Russian shopping centre

Rautaruukki Oyj Stock Exchange release 21 August 2008 at 9.50

Rautaruukki is supplying the steel structures for the enlargement of Victor and
Co's Megacomplex shopping and entertainment centre in Samara, Volga region in
Russia. The order, which includes Ruukki's steel frames, walls and roofs, is
worth about EUR 10 million.

The original single-storey shopping and entertainment centre is being
reconstructed with extra floors. Enlargement consists of five sections of
complex shape, 40,000 square metres altogether - the size of eight football
fields. The steel structures will be supplied by Ruukki's Obninsk plant and
continue until September 2008.

- Shopping and entertainment centres are always extremely challenging. In this
project we are able to demonstrate our expertise in demanding construction
projects by using the latest developments in building design and architecture,
says Sergey Chernishev, Ruukki's Sales Director for Eastern Europe.

- Ruukki is our reliable partner. We have been working together for about seven
years. During this time, Ruukki's steel structures have been used in the
construction of the Victoria water park and Castorama and Cosmoport
supermarkets in Samara, says Viktor Syrkov, Director of Victor and Co.

Ruukki is one of the leading steel structure suppliers in Russia. The company
has a steel service centre in St Petersburg and another one under construction
in Obninsk, as well as sales offices in Moscow, St Petersburg and in a number
of growth centres in Russia. Ruukki employs around 2,100 people in Russia.
